Sharing our love of Animals & Nature with You!

With almost 40 years of combined experience in the animal industry, the team at Wild Encounters have dedicated their lives to working with and caring for an incredible variety of animals — from cockroaches to crocodiles.

Our experienced handlers have travelled across the South East of England, delivering engaging and educational animal encounters that both educate and enthral children and adults alike.

Through our interactive experiences, we aim to introduce people to a world beyond imagination and the remarkable creatures we are fortunate enough to share our planet with.

During a Wild Encounters event, guests may meet animals from all corners of the globe. From giant millipedes found in the rainforests of Africa, to snakes from the jungles of Asia, or lizards from the mountains of the Middle East, each encounter offers a unique opportunity to discover the diversity of life on Earth.

Our events are designed to be engaging, educational and unforgettable. We believe that meeting animals up close helps inspire curiosity, respect and a deeper appreciation for wildlife and conservation.

No two Wild Encounters parties or events are ever the same. Every experience is tailored to the audience, ensuring that each group enjoys a personal, interactive and memorable journey into the world of animals.

Whether you are hosting a birthday party, school visit, group event or corporate function, we aim to leave every guest with knowledge, excitement and memories that will last a lifetime.

Wild Encounters is more than just an animal encounters company. It’s a passion project for 2 animal mad Brothers & their respective families.

We are strong believers in ‘You can’t love what you don’t know‘ and what better way to convey this message to the animal lovers of the future than by introducing them to some of the amazing animals in our care

Wild Encounters Inspirations and Heroes

Growing up, our love for animals and the natural world was shaped by some truly incredible individuals who dedicated their lives to wildlife, conservation and education.

From a young age we were fascinated by the work of Sir David Attenborough, whose documentaries opened a window into the natural world and showed us the beauty, diversity and fragility of life on Earth. His storytelling allowed us to experience ecosystems from every corner of the planet and inspired a deep respect for wildlife and the importance of protecting it.

Another huge inspiration was the legendary Steve Irwin, whose passion, enthusiasm and fearless dedication to wildlife conservation captivated audiences around the world. Steve’s ability to connect people with animals in such an exciting and positive way showed us that education could be both fun and powerful, inspiring generations of people to care about the natural world.

We were also inspired by the remarkable work of Dr Jane Goodall, whose groundbreaking research and lifelong commitment to conservation demonstrated the importance of understanding and protecting wildlife through compassion, patience and knowledge.

Together, these pioneers helped shape our passion for animals and our belief that education is one of the most powerful tools we have to inspire people to care about wildlife.

Through Wild Encounters, we hope to pass on that same sense of wonder and respect for animals to the next generation — just as these heroes inspired us when we were growing up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of our most commonly asked questions. If you can’t find what your are looking for please do not hesitate to get in touch at info@wild-encounters.co.uk

What areas do you cover?

We will cover anywhere within the borough’s of Richmond upon Thames, Wandworth and Hammersmith & Fulham. As a rule we do not generally travel more than 30-60 minutes from our base in SW14.

Do you do Parties outside?

Due to the welfare needs of our animals doing parties outside is not generally something we do. During the warmer months of the year it may be considered but provisions should be made move the animals and guests inside should the weather change on the day of the party.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. We ask for a £50 non-refundable deposit to secure your booking. Remaining balance must be cleared 48hrs to the start of the party or event.

*In the eventuality we are unable to attend, due to circumstances out of our control, then you will be refunded your payment in full unless an alternative date can be agreed between us and yourselves.

What age are your parties best suited for?

Due to the nature of the party 4+ years is recommended. Younger siblings and guests are more than welcome to participate under the supervision of the parent or guardian.

How much space do you require?

Upon arriving at your party we will be setting up a backdrop to keep the animals behind. This is approximately 3m x 2m. We encourage the children to either sit on chairs or preferably the floor. We would therefore need to enough space for the children to sit comfortably allowing them the ability to see us and the animals and for them to be able to interact with the animals when we bring them around. Ideally a classroom sized space or small hall is ideal.

What happens if any damage is caused by the animals?

In the unlikely event of this happening we are fully covered by Public Liability Insurance. Certification can be sent upon request.

Can food and drink be consumed whilst the animals are being shown?

No. Although we strive to keep the animals as clean as possible it’s good practice not to put your hands near your face of mouth whilst interacting with them. Good hygiene practice will be discussed with the children at the start of the party. Upon conclusion of the animal part of the party the children will be encouraged to use the hand sanitiser provided by ourselves.

Are your Animal Handlers DBS checked?

Yes. All our handlers are DBS checked. These will be provided upon request.

Do you have to hold the animals?

We understand that not everyone is confident when it comes to interacting with animals. Our experienced handlers will therefore be on hand to either encourage or reassure those members of the party that have reservations. You do not have to do anything you do not want to. Often just being able to see or maybe stroke an animal is an achievement in itself for some guests.

Does the Birthday Child get preferential treatment?

We aim to give all attendees of the party a memorable time but there will be a great emphasis on the birthday child. We want to make this a party they will never forget!

Do you do School or Nursery visits?

Yes we do! All our talks are fun, educational and informative and can be tailored to the age and requirements of the group or class.

What animals do you bring?

We are lucky enough to have access to a wide variety of animals that we are able to share with you.

These include creatures such as:

Invertebrates: Tarantulas, Scorpions, Stick Insects, Giant land snails, Giant millipedes plus more.
Lizards
Amphibians: Frogs & Toads
Snakes: Pythons, Boa Constrictors, Corn Snakes
Tortoises

* Please note not all of these animals will attend every party, however there will be a wide range to meet and interact with. Specific animals can be requested prior to the party*

Where do the animals and where do they live?

All of our animals are our personal pets, with many having been in our care for a number of years, with the many coming to us as rescues from the exotic pet trade. They live in appropriately sized, purpose-built enclosures tailored to their individual needs, with temperature-controlled environments and specialist lighting systems to ensure their health and wellbeing.

Our premises are inspected by an animal welfare inspector as part of our licence, and we operate fully in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006. We also follow the Five Freedoms of animal welfare, ensuring:

• Freedom from hunger and thirst

• Freedom from discomfort

• Freedom from pain, injury or disease

• Freedom to express natural behaviours

• Freedom from fear and distress

Your encounter is only possible because their welfare always comes first.

What do you do if any of the guests have allergies?

We will always ask about allergies at the time of booking.

The animals that will be attending these sessions all have either insect or plant/vegetable-based diets with regards to our invertebrates, amphibians, lizards and tortoises and a carnivorous diet for our snakes.

Our small mammals and poultry would not attend if someone had a nut allergy for instance. Although they do not eat a seed/nut based diet, the premises where their food is manufacture cannot be guaranteed to be nut free.

Hygiene is always paramount, and our handlers follow strict cleaning and handling protocols before, during and after any visit to ensure the safest possible environment for all children/attendees. This includes bathing all animals prior to every visit and sanitisation of their transport boxes before and after use.
